When Jeannie accidentally hits the accelerator while Tony, who is running late for an appearance on a local public affairs program on a local TV station where he's to

meet with Dr. Bellows and his wife Amanda, is trying checking his brakes, it causes her to crash the car into a nearby light pole at a busy intersection. Jeannie is able to blink Tony to the TV studio for his interview on the program, where he and Jeannie is introduced to Homer, who owns a thriving aluminum siding bussiness. He says that he "has everything" as his cousin Amanda also says, "except a wife!"

When Jeannie and Tony are brought into the police station for questioning, Homer, not knowing that Jeannie is privy to situation, after calling Dr. Bellows, tries to comfort her, saying "Now, Jeannie Jeannie, don't you worry. After we're married we'll look back at this and we'll smile, hmm?"

Tony, with a little help from Jeannie's magic, is able to get him to believe that Jeannie is a computer (she disappears in thin air) and the car is a special remote control space device. When Jeannie all of sudden disappears into thin air at Tony's command, Homer, now completely crestfallen over the loss of his potential soulmate says "I didn't know that genies had wings!"
