How to be a Genie in 10 Easy Lessons is the eighth episode of the second season of I Dream of Jeannie and the thirty-eighth overall episode of the series. Directed by Hal Cooper and written by series creator Sidney Sheldon, it first aired 31 October 1966 on NBC.

Summary[]

When Jeannie's magical powers start becoming more of a hassle than a help, Roger suggests Tony give her a copy of Tales of the Arabian Nights as a how-to manual. Unfortunately, Roger didn't read how to punish Masters through various tortures!

Trivia[]

  • In one scene, Roger Healey can be seen practicing the song Frère Jacques on a double bass. Bill Daily was a professional upright bass player before he became an actor.
  • Major Nelson mentions the events of "Fastest Gun in the East" and "My Master, the Pirate" to Jeannie. The latter episode was produced earlier than this one, but aired much later in the season, creating a continuity error.
